Lee Valley Regional Park Authority's social media house rules

We want our social media platforms to be a digital gateway to the park, from finding out updates, to seeing stunning sights and wildlife from around the park and what’s on offer regionally. Unfortunately, sometimes others don’t feel the same and use social media negatively without much thought to those behind the screen working to help keep the park a place people love.

We’ve created these social media house rules to outline what we’ll be doing on our channels, what we’d love you – the user of the platforms – to do and what we won’t accept on our platforms.

What you’ll see on our social media channels:

  • Sharing content from our staff, venues and partners in the park and wider Lee Valley

  • Re-sharing content from our visitors

  • Promoting the different venues, products and services that are of interest to our community

  • Providing information and updates around the park to ensure ease of visiting

  • Responding to messages, posts and comments within working hours (Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 16:00) to people who respect our house rules. For urgent matters, please use our contact us page to find the correct contact details.

  • We’ll only respond once to correspondence, unless there’s a persistent issue

How you can join in:

  • Make sure you comply with the social media platforms’ Terms of Use and our social media house rules

  • Tag our account in your posts about your visits! We love to see your photos and videos and will sometimes share them

  • If you tag or check into in at our locations, we might ask if it’s okay to share the posts onto our channels

  • Like, comment and share our posts to help create a community spirit on our channels and share inspirations and ideas with others on the page.

What we won’t accept is:

  • Posts, comments, images, videos and messages that are considered:

    • Abusive

    • Threatening

    • Indecent

    • Misleading

    • False

    • Illegal

  • Repeated negative posts that impact on the rest of the community’s enjoyment of the channels.

  • Persistent posting designed to provoke a response to a question that we’ve already answered

  • Posting that isn’t relevant to the park or our online community

If there’s content that breaks our social media house rules, we may remove, hide or report the content. Additionally we reserve the right to report and/or ban the user depending on the severity of the content.

Finally, social media is a place of sharing and spreading inspiration, happiness and positivity that our park can provide for its visitors. We’d love for you to join our different communities. Click on the links below to like and follow our pages.
