Things to do during your stay in Lee Valley
There’s lots to see and do in the Lee Valley so if you feel like exploring further afield from the campsite there’s no limit to what you can try.
Explore the River Lee that starts in Luton and heads all the way down to the River Thames from the Almost Wild Campsite; there’s a launch area where canoeists can access this meandering river
You can hire canoes from nearby Lee Valley Canoe Cycle at Broxbourne Old Mill and Meadows.
White water adventures
If you’d prefer a more adrenalin fuelled water experience then head to Lee Valley White Water Centre, (Link to their website) where you can take to the rapids in a range of white water activities from white water rafting to hydrospeeding.
The Lee Valley is well known for its abundant flora and fauna. From the everyday to endangered species of birds and mammals the variety that can be seen throughout the seasons will ensure that whatever time of year you venture out you’ll be in for a treat.
Walking and cycling routes
The network of pathways weave their way through the park make it easy to explore whether you’re on foot or riding a bike.
If you haven’t got your own, you can hire bikes from Lee Valley Canoe Cycle at Broxbourne Old Mill and Meadows.
Nearby pubs, cafes and shops
You’re spoilt for choice with three pubs within easy walking distance: The Crown, The Bull and The White Bear. Lots are also takeaways and restaurants in the parade of shops in Broxbourne as well as local shops and a small supermarket – all are within easy walking distance.
