During this walk we will visit the former ironworks, shipyard and coal wharf which is now a real wildlife haven in the urban environment. Trinity Buoy Wharf will be the first port of call where there is plenty of history to learn about. Doubling back you will expolore East India Dock Basin before crossing the road to the final part of this walk. Bow Creek Ecology Park is a fascinating place to visit any time of year, and one that’s won the prestigious Green Flag Park Award for four years running.
A short walk but packed with history and things to see. Within sight of Canary Wharf and the O2 Arena, you’ll discover these amazing historic sites that are now enjoying a new lease of life as wildlife reserves and valuable green spaces in the urban sprawl.
A pleasant stroll along a part of the River Thames opposite the O2 Arena giving a view that you don't always see.

There is no parking available for this walk so meet at the north end of the station platform
The walk leaders will be wearing green tabards with the Lee Valley Park Logo on them
Wear appropriate clothing and shoes for the walk

Dogs and allowed but must be kept on a lead
There is no parking at Bow Creek Ecology Park or East India Dock Basin, the nearest car park is at is the Excel Centre where charges may apply. The North entrance to Bow Creek Ecology Park is Bidder Street and the West entrance is over the blue bridge.
Canning Town station is served by the London Underground Jubilee line, the Docklands Light Railway and local buses operated for London Buses.
