Walthamstow BioBlitz : Children's Walthamstow Wildlife Hunt

 

Young nature detectives and their families are invited to join the Lee Valley Youth and Schools Service to look for magnificent minibeasts, brilliant birds and play wildlife games.

Essential Information

  • Minibeast hunting equipment and binoculars will be provided but if you have a pair of binoculars bring them along.
  • This event is aimed at 5-12 years olds and their families. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Due to steps and steep slopes participants will need to be reasonably mobile.
  • There is ample parking at the WaterWorks Centre, free of charge.
  • If possible please download the FREE iNaturalist app in advance so you can record your observations over the weekend.

By train: the nearest stations are Clapton on the Liverpool Street line (10 minutes walk) or Lea Bridge station, located between Stratford and Tottenham Hale (5 minute walk)
 
By bus: routes 48, 55 and 56 stop on Lea Bridge Road (outside  Lee Valley Ice Centre)
 
By car: there is a car park the WaterWorks Centre, Lammas Road, Off Lea Bridge Road, E10 7QB. Parking is free
