You’ll be amazed by the variety of wildlife
You’ll be amazed by the variety of wildlife that’s thriving in River Lee Country Park. And with clearly waymarked, traffic-free paths and trails, strolling into the natural world is a relaxed, delightful experience.
Fishers Green is the ideal starting point. You’ll find bird hides not far from the car park, where you can view lake, wader scrapes and farmland habitats. At the Bittern Information Point on Seventy Acres Lake you could well spot the elusive bittern in winter, and in summer the lake is home to a large Common Tern colony. Walking around the lake you can learn about the local otter population, and keep an eye out for them as you enjoy a relaxed picnic at the water’s edge.
The Grebe Hide – Fishers Green Closure
Due to safety reasons the Grebe Hide will be closed until further notice. Lee Valley Park Authority are in the process of organising repairs and will re-open the hide as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience.
