As the sun comes out, it’s time to get outdoors and enjoy our open spaces, activities and events for you and the family this spring in the Lee Valley.
Spring into the outdoors
Enjoy a bucket load of activities at River Lee Country Park! Discover our sculptures dotted around the park and embrace the different variations of art we have to offer. It’s perfect for a lovely stroll or cycle with the family whilst exploring the beautiful scenes of the park. Raft on the rapids at Lee Valley White Water Centre and have a go at white water rafting to get the blood pumping during March Mayhem! Or head to Waltham Abbey for all of the shenanigans happening at Lee Valley Park Farms where the kids can enjoy a range of indoor and outdoor activities and meet a variety of animals that they’ll love!

English Tourism Week
It’s that time again! Celebrate English Tourism Week in the Lee Valley. Get a head start by picking your favourite activities and events to participate in from 25 March to 2 April.

Challenge yourself on the water
Kick start the week by riding the rapids at Lee Valley White Water Centre and get ready for March Mayhem. Get your adrenalin pumping and go white water rafting for only £38pp.
Cycle the Olympic Way
The whole family can enjoy a leisurely cycle ride to Queen Elizabeth Park on 26 March whilst enjoying the great sunny outdoors. Find a spot of lunch on the way before making your way to Lee Valley VeloPark to see the iconic velodrome.

Spring marks the season of new life; from 1 April – 17 April, you and the kids can meet the new born animals at Lee Valley ParkFarms. The kids can enjoy various fun filled activities like bottle feeding the lambs, an Easter egg hunt on Easter weekend or take a tractor ride to the dairy farm!
A relaxing stroll
To end this perfect week, take a relaxing walk through River Lee Country Park to celebrate the spring season on 2 April and enjoy scenic views of the park with a variety of wildlife species and cycling routes for everyone to enjoy.

This year we’re marking our 50th year so we’d love for you to share your adventures in the park. With a variety of walks every weekend, don’t miss out on the chance to explore every corner of Lee Valley Regional Park.

Spring has sprung
Explore the sunny outdoors with Wild Wednesday’s activity afternoon on 12 April from 13:00 – 15:00. Whilst the kids are at home for the holidays, make your way to Waltham Abbey Gardens for an afternoon full of activities, arts and crafts and much more!
Advanced bookings are £4.50 or £5.00 on the day.
Brighten your evening
See Waltham Abbey Gardens in a different light on 30 April! Come along with a lantern for a breath-taking evening experience as you see the gardens lit up like nothing before. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to make your own lantern, use our sheets for paper and jar lanterns and see how creative you can get.
Family Bushcraft Challenge
Bring the family together and take part in the one day bushcraft course for beginners on 30 April. You’ll learn a variety of skills and techniques on how to use the tools and equipment.

In there you’ll get a handy activity planner which will give you a variety of activities and events at our different venues for you to tick off once you’ve done it. Explore scenic routes with natural play, meet the animals at Lee Valley Park Farms, enjoy a picnic in one of our many open spaces, make a splash at Lee Valley White Water Centre, or take in a birds eye view from the ArcelorMittal Orbit.
