Coronavirus (COVID-19) UPDATE
Updated 21 May 2020
Keeping our visitors, staff and volunteers safe is our top priority. We’ve assessed the latest advice from the Government on Coronavirus and decided that our fisheries and golf course can reopen under the guidance.
Our other sport and leisure venues will remain temporarily closed (see list on right hand side). We’re monitoring the situation closely and look forward to welcoming you back as soon as it’s safe to do so.
Our parklands are open. All car parks which serve our green spaces are open seven days a week. With the changes to Government advice on Coronavirus, we feel that this is the right time to reopen them fully. The guidance is still to stay local and, of course, you must follow social distancing when you are out. If an area looks busy please go elsewhere. Our venue car parks remain closed.
We know that green spaces are crucial for exercise and mental wellbeing, but anyone visiting must follow the Government’s rules to stop the spread of Coronavirus.
This means enjoying exercise outside such as a run, walk, or cycle – alone or with members of your household. If meeting with one person outside your household ensure you are two metres apart and follow social distancing when walking through the park.
Team sports and social activities (e.g. picnics, playdates) with people outside of your household should not be taking place. We’ve taped off benches and picnic tables to restrict these actions. Gatherings have been banned.
Our Rangers, security team and the police are out in the parks urging people to follow social distancing rules.
Observe social distancing, staying at least 2m apart from other people
Use all areas of the park that remain open, not just the paths, so you can maintain an appropriate distance from others
If the park is crowded, do not enter if you cannot safely stay at a distance from others, consider exercising in quieter less-used streets.
Avoid touching surfaces (such as gates or hand-rails) and your mouth and face. Please follow Public Health England advice on hygiene and wash your hands as soon as you get home.
Pay attention to any instructions from our team. Temporary measures have been put in place to safeguard you.
Do not visit if you have any symptoms – fever, coughs, shortness of breath. See NHS guidelines if this applies to you.
Keep safe and stay well
