Lee Valley Regional Park Authority's 50th Anniversary

2017 marks 50 years since the formation of Lee Valley Regional Park.
Large parts of the park have been transformed from industrial wastelands, derelict sites and even rubbish dumps, and the park is now a collection of outstanding open spaces and wonderful world class sports venues. It is home to a vast array of birds, wildlife and plants and is a valued green space which now attracts more than six million visits a year.

A programme of walks and cycle rides has been undertaken for many years – helping people to connect with the park, aimed at those with an interest in birds, wildlife, industrial heritage and the history of the valley. In addition the walks have health and social benefits for the participants.

This year we are running an expanded programme for the 50th anniversary in 2017 which will be be run with the help of volunteers.
